about rhe

Artistry

rhe (Rheanna Nicole Zotto) is a New York City based independent folk-pop singer/songwriter known for her "captivating charm" (UN Indie Folk Review) and "impressive vocal strength" (Playlist Picasso). Her debut EP Post-Mortem Postcards has been described as an “uplifting indie folk“ debut and is currently available for streaming on all music platforms along with two released singles off her upcoming album HERE & NOW titled Mother Nature (she’s got a hold on me) and perennial skies. You can find her on stages across the five boroughs of NYC as a featured solo act, most notably headlining off-broadway concerts at historic venues such as the iconic Triad Theatre. She also performs as part of an all-female band and music collective Milky Way Garden alongside the talents of fellow independent artists Sonia Bird and County Girl.

Music Therapy

Rheanna is a practicing board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) specializing in pediatric neurorehabilitation. She became the lead of the music therapy department at The International Academy for the Brain (iBRAIN) in March of 2025 and oversees a team of clinicians across three campuses.

She received her master's degree in music with a concentration in music therapy at Montclair State University's John J Cali School of Music in May of 2023 & completed her preprofessional internship at the Louis Armstrong Department of Music Therapy at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. There, she specialized in pediatrics and served as the Visiting Artist Series coordinator, while receiving advanced training hours through their Music & Health Clinic program and a certificate in RBL (Rhythm, Breath & Lullaby, Tier 1 & 2) . She completed her Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) certification in May of 2024.

Music Education

Rheanna has over eight years of experience in teaching children ranging in age from pre-kindergarten to the 12th grade in both classroom and private lesson settings. She holds a bachelor's degree in music education with a vocal performance concentration through Adelphi University's Honors College and graduated in 2020, the same year she obtained her NYS teaching certification as a music educator (K-12).

Her teaching philosophy centers around a humanistic approach to experiential learning that prioritizes the facilitation of collaborative musical experiences and caters to the individual strengths, needs and intersectional identities of each child.

Her senior thesis in music education was selected for poster presentation at the 2019 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Winter Conference in Rochester, NY.

Rheanna is also a certified Music Together® teacher, and has previously taught through the Treble Time Music Studio.
